The Idaho Blues Society is an all-volunteer organization of individuals who love the blues just like you, from our board of directors to our teaching musicians to our volunteers who help with fundraising and staff our merch tables at IBS-hosted blues music events. Financial support is always welcome, but another important way to help keep the blues alive in Idaho is to join our growing team of volunteer blues music enthusiasts.
Benefits of Volunteering
We understand that giving your time and energy without financial compensation may seem challenging in today’s busy world, but volunteering with us doesn’t have to take up a lot of your time. We’ll work with your schedule. In addition, the benefits of volunteering are significant for individual volunteers –- not just for the organization.

Consider volunteering to staff an IBS merch table. Spend a couple of hours chatting with fellow blues enthusiasts and promoting IBS membership and sales of our cool T-shirts, hats, and glasses. - More of a behind-the-scenes communicator?
Work with our communications volunteers to develop materials to promote IBS-hosted events and programs. - Good at inspiring people to donate to a worthy cause?
Work with our fundraising volunteers to explore ways to encourage others to donate to our organization. - Like working with young people?
How about volunteering to help or join our team of musicians who teach young students about instruments and blues music through our Blues in the Schools program? - Know your way around the Treasure Valley?
We’re in need of volunteers to transport donated instruments for repair and donation as well as IBS merch for sale at IBS-hosted events.
